STEUBENVILLE –The Jefferson County grand jury returned nine indictments on Wednesday, including a case in which a woman was allegedly driving under the influence on the wrong way of U.S. Route 22, causing a head-on accident on Oct. 26.

Danielle R. Eckels, 43, of Lot 16, 28 township Road 281, Steubenville, was charged with two counts each of aggravated vehicular assault and vehicular assault and driving under the influence.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported Eckels was driving west in the eastbound lanes of the highway, when her vehicle was involved in a collision near the Veterans Memorial Bridge, around 8:42 p.m. on Oct. 26. The patrol reported two people in the other vehicle were transported to Weirton Medical Center, suffering from numerous broken bones.

Eckels’ blood-alcohol level was more than two times the legal limit, the patrol reported.

Zakary D. Yeager, 27, of Apartment B, 410 Wilson Place and Marlana E. Hart, 24, of 711 Market St. each were indicted in connection with the burglary and robbery of a house in the 1400 block of Belleview Boulevard on June 18.

The prosecutor’s office reported Yeager and Hart broke into the house and stole a purse, prescription medicine, cash and cell phones. The resident and her boyfriend were assaulted during the break-in, the prosecutor’s office reported.

Yeager and Hart each were indicted on one count of aggravated burglary and four counts of robbery.

Mark F. Cashdollar, 24, of 217 Jefferson Blvd., Mingo Junction, was indicted on two counts of rape and gross sexual imposition. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department reported the incidents, which happened between September and October, involved a 4-year-old boy and 6-year-old girl.

Dorian L. Patton, 28, of 1432 Pennsylvania Ave. and Zachery M. George, 31, of 1617 Moreland Drive each were indicted on a charge of escape for failing to report to their state parole officer.

Paula Ghrist, 39, of 1188 township Road 244, Toronto, was indicted on nine counts of theft of drugs. The prosecutor’s office reported Ghrist was stealing prescription medicine while working as a pharmacy technician.

Kevin L. Wilson Jr., 19, of 503 Wallace St., Brilliant, was indicted on one count of possession of drugs.

John D. McMonagle, 43, of 3509 county Road 60, Bergholz, was indicted in a case in which the prosecutor’s office reported McMonagle stole ginseng from elderly neighbors from August through September. The case was investigated by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.

McMonagle was charged with felony counts of theft and receiving stolen property and misdemeanor counts of theft, harvesting ginseng out of season, harvesting ginseng without certification and failure to keep ginseng harvest records.
