DeMARCO, Annie, 79, of Bergholz, died Saturday evening, January 12, 2013, in Aultman Hospital at Canton of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
She was born in Wolf Run, OH, on August 3, 1933, a daughter of the late John and Mary Maras Bensko.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred in 1960; two brothers, John and Steve Bensko; five sisters, Mary Schuler, Rosalie King, Anita Frisby, Ellen Blazwich and Katherine Denzinger.
Annie leaves behind a daughter, Honchie DeMarco and Bradley Childers; companion of 37 years, Robert “Bob” Walker; dear friends John and Sue Ujcich and Rose and Joe Seck; her card club companions of 50 years, Jane Schultz, Martha Gorsuch, Fran Fleishour, Charlene Keenan, Evelyn Burrier, Betty Mazur and June Muesegaes; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She is a member of the All Saints Orthodox Church of Wolf Run, where she had served as secretary/treasurer of the church sisterhood.
Annie enjoyed traveling with Bob and her friends, playing cards, working on her farm and making sure everyone had something to eat and drink. She was an extremely hard worker and loved life. If there ever was a life of the party, it was Annie.
Funeral services will be Thursday Jan. 17, 2013 at 10 a.m. in All Saints Orthodox Church, Wolf Run, with burial to follow in the All Saints Cemetery. Visitation from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in the Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home, Amsterdam, with Parastas services at 8 p.m.
