SKIDMORE, Carl David, 71, of Weirton, WV, passed away Friday, January 4, 2013, at his residence.
He was born June 25, 1941, in Weirton, WV, a son of the late Robert Woodrow and Ora Bell (Jackson) Skidmore Jr. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Karol Lynn (Orth) Skidmore and a daughter, Karen Lynn Skidmore.
He retired from Weirton Steel Corp.’s Tin Mill Department as a machinist and belonged to the Salvation Army Church.
Carl taught at Jefferson Community College’s machinist school, was an avid camper at Tappan Lake, was an avid fisherman and liked fishing with his friend and fishing buddy Mike Johnston.
He was a devoted grandfather and spent a lot of time with his grandson.
Surviving are his daughter, Carla Skidmore of Weirton, WV; a sister, Patty (Ron) Brady; two brothers, Robert (Joyce) Skidmore and Dana (Margie) Skidmore, all of Weirton, WV; his grandson, Alex Skidmore of Carnegie, PA; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law William D. Orth and Chrstine Orth of Marietta, GA; and many nieces and nephews he loved.
Memorial services will be held at the Salvation Army Church in Weirton, WV, on Monday, January 7, 2013 at 4 p.m. with Capt. Ed Long presiding.
Visitation will be at the church from 2 p.m. until time of services at 4 p.m.
