Gerald Lee ‘Jerry’ Robinson

ROBINSON, Gerald Lee “Jerry,” 65 of Weirton, WV passed away Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at the Weirton Medical Center, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born May 26, 1947, in Steubenville, OH. He was the son of the late Edmund F. and Dorothy Baker Robinson.

Jerry was a U.S. Air Force, Vietnam war veteran, a member of the 25 year club of Weirton Steel, an ultimate sportsmen who loved to fish and hunt, and a diehard Steeler fan to the end.

Jerry retired after 33 years from the HCL plant at Weirton Steel and also as a security guard at Mountaineer Racetrack.

Surviving are his wife of 34 years; Diana “Dee” Lynn Weeks Robinson, daughters; Jenna Marie Robinson, Justine Alexandra Robinson, granddaughter; Ava Lee Cooper, all of Weirton, WV, sisters; Debby Vojvodich (George) of Bradenton, FL, Cathy Velto(James) of Weirton, WV, and the love of his life, his dog, Bailey.

Visitation will be at the Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home, Inc., 380 Penco Road, Weirton, WV on Saturday January 12, 2013 from 9 a.m. until time of the funeral at 11 a.m. with Reverend Kevin L. Bowers presiding.

Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Special thanks are extended to Drs. Rhaman, Meissner, and Gupta and also to the nurses at Trinity Medical Center West and Weirton Medical Center for their care and compassion.
