John A. ‘Wally’ Collier

COLLIER, John A. “Wally,” 65, of Wintersville, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at home.

He was born April 6, 1947, in Steubenville, the son of the late John and Josephine Cicone Collier.

John worked at the former Kaufman’s Department store and was retired from Macy’s where he worked in the shoe department and John served his country in U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.

Surviving are two brothers, Frank (Maria) Collier and Richard (Kasey) Collier both of Steubenville and one sister, Carol (Terry) Long of Bloomingdale.

Also surviving are three nephews, Terry Lee (Penny) Long, Jr, Johnathan (Fiancee, Brita) Collier and Ricky Collier, one niece, Kayla Collier; one great-nephew, Austin Long and one great-niece, Addison Long.

John was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and was a graduate of Catholic Central High School class of 1965.

Calling hours are Wednesday 5-8 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd. Steubenville. A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Msgr. Kurt Kemo, celebrant. Burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery there will be a vigil service Wednesday at 5 p.m.
