Chester J. Stasiulewicz

STASIULEWICZ, Chester J. (The Hammer Big Boy), age 86 of Toronto, OH, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at the Acuity Specialty Hospital, Steubenville, OH.

He was born May 24, 1926, in Steubenville, OH, the son of the late Stephan Joseph and Natalae Popko Stasiulewicz.

Chester was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church of Toronto; Toronto American Legion Post No. 86; Toronto V.F.W Post No. 6906 and the Dyer Country Club of Toronto.

He was an avid Cincinnati Bengals fan and an avid golfer having had four holes in one as a golfer.

Chester was retired from the Ohio Edison Co. (First Energy)after 36 years where he was an A Man mechanic in the maintenance department; served his country in the U.S. Navy during W.W. II.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Alexander, Frank, Vincent and Eugene Stasiulewicz; sisters, Emily Zwierzewicz and Rose Brooks; son-in-law, Tom Redmond.

Chester is survived by his wife, Norvegia “Nora” Santin Stasiulewicz of the family home whom he married July 3, 1950 in Washington, D.C.; daughters, Mary (Ron) Dacko of Toronto, OH and Patti Redmond of the family home; sons, David (Mary) Stasiulewicz of Toronto, OH, John (Kimberly) Stasiulewicz of Steubenville, OH and George (Tracy) Stasiulewicz of Ashville, OH; grandchildren, Matthew and David Barcus, John Dacko, Angie Kirkpatrick, Tommy Redmond, Anthony and Landen Stasiulewicz; great- grandchildren, Cody Owen, Matthew, Michael, Albert and Joshua Barcus; brother, Albert (Ann) Stasiulewicz of Steubenville, OH; sisters, Josephine Chlebowicz of Richmond, OH and Mary Seminara of Steubenville, OH. He also leaves many, nieces and nephews and many friends.

Visitation hours for Chester will be 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8th at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main Street, Toronto and additional visitation from 9-10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9th at the St. Francis Catholic Church, corner of Findley Street and Euclid Avenue, Toronto where a Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. with celebrant the Reverend Father Thomas Vennitti. Burial will follow at the Toronto Union Cemetery where there will be full military honors by the Toronto American Legion.

There will be a Vigil Service at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and a Toronto American Legion Service at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home
