WILSON, Lloyd C. “Bud,” 86, of Wintersville, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Trinity West. He was born December 28, 1926 in Wintersville, Ohio, a son of the late Clyde E. and Mary C. McCoy Wilson.
Bud retired as the body shop manager of Brandt Motor Co. in 1988. He was a member of Colonial Baptist Church, Pilgrim Lodge 691, Valley of Steubenville Scottish Rite AASR; Aladdin Temple of the Shrine in Columbus, longtime member of Steel Valley Antique Car Club and a lifetime member of the Ohio Valley Coin Association. Bud also served his country honorably as a PFC in the U.S. Army from February 19, 1945 to December 11, 1946.
Preceding Bud in death were six sisters Pearl Ashton, Audrey Wilson, Edith Mauer, Pauline England, Helen Donaldson and Marge Washel. Surviving are his wife for 65 years, Dessie Rodosovich Wilson, whom he married on August 24, 1947; two sons Warren (Barbara) Wilson of Toronto, OH and John (Susan Waychoff) Wilson of Bratenahl, OH; two grandsons Kyle Wilson and Nicholas Waychoff both of Cleveland, OH; two granddaughters Cortney (Helker) Silva of Blacklick, OH, and Alyson Colledge of Wellsville, OH; and two great granddaughters Aryn Colledge-Ice of Wellsville, OH, and Camila Silva of Blacklick, OH.
Bud was known to all as a kind, caring and fun-loving man, honest and hard-working, whose character and sense of fairness were seldom, if ever, questioned. Throughout his life, he gave of himself generously to church, community, family and friends, with memberships and volunteer activities too numerous to list.
Both an artist and a highly skilled craftsman, Bud devoted much of his spare time until age 80 to his passion of restoring antique automobiles. His work earned him both local and national recognition, as well as the friendship and respect of many antique vehicle afficionados.
Above all else, Bud strived to live a life that honored his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in whose arms he is now joyfully embraced.
