William Binkiewicz

BINKIEWICZ, William “Bill” Stanley “Chief,” 76, of Dillonvale, Ohio, passed Monday, February 18, 2013, at home.

He was born in Steubenville, Ohio, on November 24, 1936, a son of the late William and Elizabeth Petrosky Binkiewicz.

He was a former employee of Titanium Metals of Toronto; former Dillonvale Police Chief; member of the Fraternal Order of Police; Dillonvale American Legion; U.S. Navy veteran; a Catholic by faith; Pine Valley Sportsman’s Club; a member of the Polka Barons; a former bailiff for Judge Scarpone; and he loved gardening.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John C. Binkiewicz.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Rosalie Zerla Binkiewicz; sons, William (Lori) Binkiewicz; John T. Binkiewicz, all of Dillonvale; Stephen (Jackie) Binkiewicz, of Ravenna, Ohio; Jason Binkiewicz, of Dillonvale; sisters, Elizabeth Pipo, of Steubenville, Marion Harris, of California, Theresa Lash, of East Springfield, Ohio, Susan (Butch) Whitehead, of Tampa, Fla., Nancy Shrieve, of Bloomingdale, Ohio; grandchildren, Hunter, Jason Jr., Chase, Brooke, Haylee and Hayden Binkiewicz.

Friends will be received Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 154 Second Street, Dillonvale, Ohio, where services will be held Saturday February 23, 2013, at 10 a.m. with Monsignor John Kolesar, officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Dillonvale American Legion at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.
