WASKO, Daniel, 94, of Gnadenhutten, OH formerly of Steubenville, OH passed away Saturday March 2, 2013 at Trinity Twin City Hospital, Dennison, OH.
He was born June 13, 1918 in Toronto, OH. He was the son of the late William and Anna Dancak Wasko.
He was also preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, E. Eileen Wallace Wasko; sisters, Ann Batcho, Irene Brayton, Mary Baker; brothers, William Wasco, John Wasko, Nicholas “Paul” Wasko, and Michael Wasco. Dan was a member of the Wintersville United Methodist Church as well as attending Dover First Christian Church, Dover, OH. He was a member of Cove Valley Lodge No.380 I.O.O.F. and a former longtime member of the Weirton Rotary and Steubenville Rotary Clubs. Dan retired from the Sherwin-Williams Company (Weirton store) and also as district manager.
Surviving are his daughter, Cathy Marker (James) of Gnadenhutten, OH; son, Dennis Wasko (Melany) of Louisville, OH; grandchildren, Stacey Wasko, Brandon Wasko, Bethany Marker, and Rachel Leibrock (Brendon); sister, Helen “Elaine” Donofrio (Ralph) of Toronto, OH. Visitation will be at the Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home, Inc., 3721 Main Street, Weirton, WV on Monday March 4, 2013 from 5-8 p.m. where the funeral will be held Tuesday March 5, 2013 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Chris Mulpas and Reverend Clint Quillen Jr. presiding.
Burial will follow at The Union Cemetery, Steubenville, OH.
