DUNCAN, William Robert Jr., 78, of Newell, passed away while surrounded by his loving family on Friday, April 19, 2013.
Born August 23, 1934, in Hartford, W.Va; a son of the late William and Margaretta Harris Duncan Sr.
Bob was a graduate of Wells High School, Class of 1952; an Army veteran, a long-term member for 37 years of the Newell Volunteer Fire Dept. and a member of the Nessly Chapel Church. He retired from Weirton Steel and was a member of the 25-Year Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ila Jean Watson and a brother, Harry Duncan.
Surviving are his loving wife, Patricia Drake Duncan of Newell, whom he married in 1956; a daughter, Nancy (Mark) Molinaro of Richmond; a son, William R. ( Sheila) Duncan III of Newell; six grandchildren, Alec Duncan, Andrew Duncan , Allyson Duncan and Bryan Childers all of Newell and Jennifer Molinaro of Pittsburgh and Mark J. Molinaro of Columbus; a great-grandchild, Alivia Molinaro of Pittsburgh; two sisters, Marlene Duncan of North Carolina and Karen (Art) Miller of Florida; a sister-in-law, Carmela Kane of North Carolina: a brother-in-law, Dale Watson of New Cumberland; and by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Nixon Funeral Home in Newell, with a fireman’s funeral service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2013.
Burial will follow at Shadow Lawn Memory.
The Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will conduct military honors.
