MENDENHALL, Georgiana “Georgie” V., 88, of Weirton, WV, entered into rest on Saturday, May 25, 2013, at the Weirton Geriatric Center.
She was born November 5, 1924, in Spokane, WA.
Georgie was a loving mother to three children and four grandchildren. She was one of three children born to David I. and Laura Anderson Williams of Spokane, WA.
She was a World War II bride who worked as a draftsman for the U.S. goverment while her beloved Elwood was stationed in the Pacific during World War II. In 1945, she wed her returning soldier in Spokane, Washington and moved with her new husband to Weirton, WV. She was a mother, business woman, and a good friend to many.
In addition to aiding her husband in the Mendenhall Real Estate and Insurance Agency, Georgie also partnered with her daughter Cheryl to start the Mendenhall Suntan Business, where she worked until her retirement.
Georgie was an avid animal lover who was rarely seen without her beloved dogs, even at work. Her fiesty personality will set an example of strength for her children. All who knew and loved her will miss her wisdom.
Georgie is survived by her loving daughter, Cheryl Mendenhall Radican, David Mendenhall, and Vickie Mendenhall; older brother, Donald Williams of Spokane, WA; four grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Elwood on November 6, 1989; sister, Virginia Hooper.
It is Georgie’s request that there be no visitation and that she be cremated. Private services will be held.
