Margaret A. Paice
PAICE, Margaret Ann Westlake, 68, of Ostrander, formerly of Steubenville, died Saturday, May 18, 2013, at her home with her loving husband at her side. A homemaker, she was a former dietary aide at Ohio Valley Hospital (now Trinity East Hospital) in Steubenville. She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Steubenville and a 1963 graduate of Steubenville “Big Red” High School. She was an avid football fan, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers and liked trips to the casino. A lover of nature, she enjoyed all animals, especially wildlife. She supported humane societies and held a great compassion for distressed animals.
Following her husband’s retirement a year ago, they moved to the Ostrander area to enjoy her family and the new home built by her son. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she will especially be remembered for her heartfelt feelings toward others and fun-loving character.
She was born April 19, 1945 in Steubenville to the late Earl and Anna May Cupperson Westlake and was also predeceased by a brother, Thomas J. Westlake and a sister, Eileen Johnston.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Franklin Leroy Paice, whom she married Oct. 11, 1968 in New Alexandria; two sons, Jeffrey (Alisa) Paice of Wintersville and Robert (Lesley) Paice of Marysville; three grandchildren, Kayla Ann, Kyle Andrew and Haley Brooke Paice; one great-granddaughter, Brianna Mae Paice; two sisters, Elizabeth Ann Westlake of Steubenville and Kay (Wendell) Howell of Manasses Park, Virginia; and a brother, Earl (Toni) Westlake of Mingo Junction.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Underwood Funeral Home, 703 East Fifth St., in Marysville, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Ostrander. Rev. George Cooper will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan B. Komen For The Cure.
