Joseph Ricciardi

RICCIARDI, Joseph James, age 61, left this world and joined his beloved wife Veronica Jo in Heaven on June 7, 2013.

He was born on July 6, 1951 in Wheeling, WV, a son of the late Joseph and Josephine Richards of Follansbee.

Joe had been employed as an electrical engineer at the Aleris, Newport Rolling Mill in Uhrichsville, OH and had previously worked at Weirton Steel and Consolidated Aluminum.

He was a 1969 graduate of Weirton Madonna H.S. and received his engineering degree from Franciscan University of Steubenville.

Joe loved his country and proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He resided in New Philadelphia, OH and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Among his many accomplishments, Joe’s true joy was sharing his exceptional singing voice with others. Most notably, he was the featured tenor in the West Shore Chorale and Orchestra’s 29th season performance of Bach’s Magnificant. He sang with passion, beauty, and power, and had a voice truly gifted by God.

Those who knew Joe knew him as an honest, hard working, man of integrity, who loved his family and friends. He enjoyed reading, golfing, and learning about history. He was also an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins. Joe was a true renaissance man.

Joe is survived by his sons, Richard his wife Cathy, Anthony his wife Jessica, and Jonathan his wife Justeena; daughter, Michaela; step-sons, Matthew his wife Ericka, and Brandon; brothers, Vincent, Sandy, and Larry; sister, Dianne; grandchildren, Edrick, Ethan, Caleb, Isabella, Zach, Maria, Alex, Olivia, and Mattie; and many other loving nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

The family will recieve friends on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike Street, Marietta, OH.

Christian Wake Service will began at 3 p.m. Father H. Christopher Foxhoven will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marietta, OH.

Entombment to follow in the East Lawn Mausoleum in Marietta.
