DAY, Betty Violet (Parsons) was born in Bergholz, OH, on 25 September 1930 and died in Casa Grande, AZ, on 3 July 2013.
She was the daughter of Alice Campbell and Herman Parsons and was raised by her grandmother, Lula Jones, upon the death of her mother when she was eight weeks old.
She graduated from Bergholz High School in 1948. She married Morris Eugene (Gene) Day, Jr., on 8 October 1949 and had two sons, Terry E. Day of Casa Grande, AZ, and Robert H. Day (Karen) of Fairbanks, AK.
She had two grandchildren, Logan Campbell Day and Conner Yvette Day of Casa Grande, two grand children, Lloyd (Venessa) and Michael (Dana) Schrader (sons of Robert’s wife Karen) of Wilmot and East Canton, Ohio, respectively, and six great- grandchildren.
She had worked at the Carroll County Home and the Free Press Standard newspaper in Carrollton, OH. She had been a professional candy maker and liked to read, crochet, travel, paint and, especially, cook and do genealogy; she also had been a volunteer at the Casa Grande Regional Medical Center in Arizona.
She was a member of the New Harrisburg Presbyterian Church and had attended the Casa Grande Methodist Church. She had been the Ohio State Commissioner for the Clan Campbell Society (USA) and had been a member of the Carroll County Genealogical Society in Ohio.
She and Gene moved to Arizona in 1998 after living in New Harrisburg, OH, for 44 years.
She is survived by two brothers and one sister and was preceded in death by her husband, Gene, her brother Bob, and her sister Jean.
A memorial service was held for her at the Oasis Pavilion Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Casa Grande, AZ.
