Charles D. Vantilburg
VANTILBURG, Charles Donald “Charlie,” 43, of Toronto, OH, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2013, surrounded by his loving family at the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa., from injuries sustained from an accident that occurred on June 29, 2013, in the Toronto area.
He was born April 21, 1970, in Steubenville, OH
Charlie loved to play pool, corn hole; loved to fish; was a baseball coach; and loved his Harley; was an organ donor; belonged to the Toronto Eagles and the former Toronto V.F.W.
He was employed for 25 years at the Laborer’s Local Union 809, Steubenville, OH, where he had been a crew chief.
Charlie was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Harry Vantilburg, Sr., in 2010 grandmothers, Maxine Brannon and Beatrice Vantilburg, brother, Gerald Vantilburg and uncle, Jack Brannon.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Sue Jones Vantilburg, whom he married May 17, 1989; mother, Edna Brannon Mushrush, of Toronto, OH; sons, Anthony C. Vantilburg and fiancee, Hannah, of Toronto, OH, Andrew C. Vantilburg and fiancee, Jessica, of Toronto, OH and Austin C. Vantilburg of the home, a third-grader at the Toronto Karaffa Elementary School; brother, Thomas H. Vantilburg Jr., and wife, Carmela, of Birmingham, Ala.; sisters, Precious Escobar and husband, Cristian, of West Palm Beach, Fla.,and Holly Eakle and husband, David, of Mingo Jct., Ohio; granddaughter, Arybella Vantilburg; step mothers, Lorna Grimm of Mingo Jct., Ohio and Dolores Shipley of Steubenville (Pottery Addition), Ohio; also survived and will be missed dearly by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, mother and father-in-law, Alex and Carol Jones, and his buddy, Jack.
Visitation hours for Charlie will be held from 2-5 p.m. Wednesday, July 10 at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto.
A celebration service of Charlie’s life will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Raul Diaz officiating.
Following services, friends and family will gather at the Toronto Eagles for fellowship and a meal.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Charles may be made to the Austin Vantilburg Education Trust Fund c/o the Huntington Bank, Toronto, OH
