John S. Swisher

SWISHER, John S., 89, of Sun City Center, Florida, passed away on Aug. 12, 2013.

John was born on Nov. 13, 1923, in Columbus, Ohio to the late John and Beatrice (Hahn) Swisher.

John was preceded in death by his wife, Ina (Anderson) Swisher.

After graduation, John enrolled in the United States Marine Corps and participated in the defense of Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, then was sent to Midway Island, for duty during WWII.

John spent most of his life in Columbus, Ohio. In 1984, John moved to Florida where he worked for Plumbers and Pipefitters Union. John was a member of the Eagles Post.

John is survived by a niece; Carrol (William) Henestofel of Gahanna, Ohio, and also loved by Raymond and Connie Lash, Paul Richard (Betty) Miller and many family members and friends.

Private interment services will take place at Fort Steuben Burial Estates in Wintersville, OH.
