Raymond DiBerardino

DIBERARDINO, Raymond, 81, of Steubenville, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

He was born on May 7, 1932 in Steubenville. He was the son of the late Antonio and Carmela Bernabei Diberardino.

He graduated from Steubenville Catholic Central High School in 1951.

Raymond is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Mary Lou Pagnanelli DiBerardino; daughter, Diana DiBerardino and her husband Paul Perl of Mt. Lebanon; son, Dean DiBerardino of Steubenville; sister, Sandra (Edwin) Takach of Steubenville; brother, Floyd DiBerardino of Mingo Jct.; grandchildren, Leo Bernard Perl and Walter Louis Perl.

Calling hours are Sunday 3-7 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville.

A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Fr. Bradley Greer, celebrant. Burial will be at a later date at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

There will be a vigil service 4:45 p.m. Sunday and a K of C Rosary at 4 p.m.

DIBERARDINO, Raymond, 81, of Steubenville, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

He was born on May 7, 1932 in Steubenville. He was the son of the late Antonio and Carmela Bernabei Diberardino.

He graduated from Steubenville Catholic Central High School in 1951.

Raymond was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he was discharged honorably as a member of the 19th Infantry Regiment Medical Company during the Korean War. He returned home and began work as a laborer at the Wheeling – Pittsburgh Steel Company where he remained until his retirement 46 years later.

Raymond is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Mary Lou Pagnanelli DiBerardino; daughter, Diana DiBerardino and her husband Paul Perl of Mt. Lebanon; son, Dean DiBerardino of Steubenville; sister, Sandra (Edwin) Takach of Steubenville; brother, Floyd DiBerardino of Mingo Jct.; grandchildren, Leo Bernard Perl and Walter Louis Perl; nephews, Christopher Takach and Michael Takach.

Raymond was a member of Triumph of the Cross Catholic Church and the K of C council # 472. Raymond will be remembered for his love of family and friends. He also loved to spend his time playing golf, bowling and was a lifelong fan of Notre Dame football. He was very active in community service at the Holy Name Cathedral Soup Kitchen and was a regular attendee at the Mingo Jct. pool senior swim group.
