ELMORE, Doris L., 85, of Wintersville, Ohio, died September 7, 2013, in Steubenville.

She was born October 28, 1927, in Steubenville to Albert and Lowena Ford Fletcher.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph C. Elmore; son, Jerry Crossland; four brothers, Cecil, Herbert, Richard and Gordon Fletcher; and one great-grandchild, Cierra Tapp.

She is survived by two sons, Herbert (Gloria) Crossland of Steubenville, and Lionel Young of Phoenix, Ariz.; two daughters, Lynda (Jerry) Tapp of Steubenville, and Rhonda McCrimon of Wintersville; one daughter- in-law, Juanita Crossland of Steubenville; one sister, Esther Baker; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

She was educated in the Steubenville public school system.

She was a member of the Quinn Memorial A.M.E. church, where she enjoyed membership in the Mellinda Guy Missionary Society and the senior choir.

Calling hours Wednesday from 10 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. at the Quinn A.M.E. Church with Rev. Charles Simpson as the presiding officer.
