Rebecca Chadwick

CHADWICK, Rebecca E. “Becky,” 83, of Toronto, OH, passed away Friday, September 13, 2013, at the Life Line Hospital, Wintersville, OH, after a lengthy illness.

Becky loved and lived for her family.

She was born July 23, 1930, in Toronto, OH, the daughter of the late Lawrence Ignatius Hughes and Mary Elizabeth Ferguson Hughes.

Becky was also preceded in death by her brothers, Lawrence “Larry” Hughes (1981), Patrick “Pat” Hughes (1986), James “Moe” Hughes (1987); an infant brother, James Joseph Hughes; and sister-in-law, Lucille Hughes Kramer.

She is survived by her husband, Robert V. “Bob” Chadwick of the family home whom she married April 19, 1952; daughter, Colleen (Tim) Anderson of Glendale, CA; sons, Robert “Bobby” (Abigail) Chadwick of Leavenworth, KS, and Mark Stephen Chadwick of the family home; grandchildren, Susan Anderson of Arlington, VA, Kristen Anderson of Sherman Oaks, CA, Ashley Girard of Leavenworth, KS, and Andrew Chadwick of Alexandria, VA; great- grandson, Ethan Girard; sister, Marie (Patsy) Bernabei of Toronto, OH; sisters-in-law, June Hughes and Wanda Hughes both of Toronto, OH; brother- in-law, Walter “Goldie” Golden and nieces Cindy Golden and Penny Heaton of East Liverpool, OH, and 28 beloved nieces and nephews.

Becky was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church of Toronto; was a 1948 graduate of Toronto High School; volunteered for many years at the Jefferson County School of Bright Promise and had worked in the office at her father’s store, the former Hughes Furniture Store in Toronto.

A vigil service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Visitation hours for Becky will be held 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 17, at the Clarke Funeral Home, Toronto, OH.

Additional visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. September 18, at the St. Francis Catholic Church, corner of Findley St. and Euclid Ave., Toronto, where a Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. with celebrant the Reverend Father Thomas Vennitti. Interment will follow at the Toronto Union Cemetery.
