FODOR, William Joseph “Bill,” 63, of Follansbee, WV, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 20, 2013 at Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on June 23, 1950 in Washington, PA a son of the late William J. and Helen (Sabo) Fodor, Sr. In addition to his parents he is preceded by his brother, Joseph Fodor.
Bill graduated from Avella Area High School in 1968 and attended Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics. He then served his country in the Air Force during Vietnam having been an Assistant Crew Chief on a B-52 Bomber.
Bill was an employee of Arcelor Mittal Steel Corporation where he worked as an Electronics’ Technician.
He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Follansbee, WV and the American Legion in Follansbee, WV. He enjoyed golfing and fishing and spending time with his family especially his grandsons.
Bill was a devoted and loving husband, father, and pappy to his wife, Carolyn (Benzo) Fodor, his two children, Matthew (Paula) Fodor of Follansbee, WV and Kelly (Cameron) Castellaw of Richmond, KY, two grandsons, Gavin and Pete Fodor.
Two brothers, Mark (Jayne) Fodor and Ronald Fodor both of Pennsylvania.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 22 from 6-8 p.m. and Monday, September 23 from 1-3 and 5-8 p.m. at the Mullenbach Funeral Home, 669 Main St. Follansbee, WV. Vigil services will be held on Monday evening at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, September 24 at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Follansbee, WV with Msgr. Paul Hudock as celebrant.
Interment will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery in Avella, PA.
Full military honors will be conducted by the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.
