ALBAUGH, Donald A. “Don,” 93, of Mingo Junction, died Friday, December 20, 2013, at Valley Hospice North.
He was born July 19, 1920, in Steubenville, the son of the late Wilda Virtue Crossley.
He was preceded in death by his wife Jean Stephenson Albaugh whom he married on April 25, 1946.
Don retired from Weirton Steel as a claims manager and a 25 year club member. He was a member of First Christian Church of Steubenville and Steubenville Masonic Lodge 45. He graduated from Steubenville High School and continued his education at Marietta College where he received a bachelor’s of science degree; veteran of World War II serving in the Army Air Corp. Don was an avid golfer at Spring Hills Golf Course and enjoyed bowling with the All American and Steel Valley Leagues.
He is survived by two sons, Bob (Barbara) Albaugh of Mingo Junction and William “Bill” (Suzanne) Albaugh of Steubenville; two granddaughters, Kelly (Bob) Lamantia and Sarah Albaugh; and great-grandson, Robert Lamantia.
Friends may call at the Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville, on Sunday from 4-8 p.m., where funeral services will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. Burial in Fort Steuben, where the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad will accord military honors.
