Richard ‘Runt’ Warrick

WARRICK, Richard F. “Runt,” 68, of Brilliant, OH, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2013, at Life Line Hospital in Wintersville, OH, after a lengthy illness.

He was born November 13, 1945, in Washington County, PA. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, who raised him, Joe and Margaret Nayok.

Richard retired after 31 years as a heavy equipment operator for the former International Mill Service which is now Olympic Mill Service in Mingo Junction. He served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. Runt enjoyed watching football, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Surviving are his wife, Linda (Pittman) Warrick, whom he met in 1981 and married on June 5, 1989; a daughter, Gina (Jim) Moore of Glen Dale, WV; two step-daughters, Stephanie Peckins of Brilliant and Nichole Short and her fiance, Edward Emery, of Brilliant; a stepson, Richard Short, of Toronto, OH; a sister, Kathy Cook, of Mingo Junction; seven grandchildren, James Moore, Jordan Moore, Dusti (Damien) White, Stevie Short, Aurielle Hughes, Syarra Hughes and Jaida Peckins; and his dog, Fancy.

Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant, on Wednesday, January 1 from 1-3 and also from 5 until the time of his funeral services at 7 p.m. with Dr. Marc R. Tinstman, minister, officiating.
