ORSINI, Wanda Ann, 89, of Mingo Junction, Ohio, passed away Friday March 14, 2014, at Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, Ohio, under the care of Charity Hospice.
She was born April 1, 1924, in Pettorano Sul Gizio, Italy, a daughter of the late Nicola and Donata (Cipolla) Orsini.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Raffaelina Leone, Edith C. “Edie” Adyniec, and Elia Banks; two nephews, Lewis Leone and Randy Banks; and a niece, Donna Porter.
Wanda graduated from Mingo High School in 1942. She worked in Dayton, Ohio, for the Navy Department as a civilian in the administrative office until the end of the war. She then worked for Ohio Bell Telephone Co. until her retirement and was the district president of the Ohio Bell Union. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers Club of America, St. Agnes Catholic Church, and the Catholic Womens Club of the church.
Surviving are a sister, Norma McCain of Adamstown, Maryland; eight nieces, Brenda (Anthony) Adyniec Recinella, Benita Leone, Sandy McLaughlin, Karen Scott, Glenda Banks, Linda (Brandon) Gaines, Susan (Gregg) Gurskey and Debra McCain; a nephew, Alan (Marybeth) Adyniec; a niece-in-law, Sandy Leone; many great-nieces and nephews; many great- great-nieces and nephews; and her good friend and caregiver, Joyce Frey.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 1-4 p.m. at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave., Mingo Junction.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held at St. Agnes Catholic Church on Monday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. James M. Dunfee as celebrant. Entombment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Steubenville.

There will be a vigil service on Sunday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
