Harold W. Hall

HALL, Harold William, 73, of Hopedale, OH, died April 18, 2014, at his home.

He was born in Hopedale on August 22, 1940, the son of the late Frank Hall and Bill and Bernice Busby Case.

Harold was also preceded in death by a daughter, Laura Lou Ann Hall; a brother, Frank Hall; and two sisters, Shirley Bruno and Eleanor Santille.

He was a graduate of the Hopedale High School Class of 1958. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy, serving on the USS Shangri-La. Harold and Wanda Woodburn Hall were married on June 22, 2011.

He was an avid fisherman, hunter and race car enthusiast. He was retired from Y&O 2 Mine with over 20 years of service. He was also a member of the United Mine Workers, the 40&8, the Hopedale American Legion and the Hopedale Sportsman’s Club.

Harold is survived by his wife; one daughter, Chris Ann Tennant of Core, W.Va.; three brothers: Richard, Joe and Mark, all of Hopedale; three sisters: Carol (Steve) Varkony of Florida, Verna Rensi and Diana Dunlap, both of Hopedale; and five grandchildren and two great- grandchildren.

Friends may call on Tuesday, April 22, from 7-9 p.m. at the Blackburn Funeral Home, 324 High St., Hopedale, OH, with services there Wednesday, April 23 at 2 p.m. Pastor Dean Blythe will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. The Hopedale American Legion will provide military honors.
