Joseph Sabol III

SABOL, Joseph “Joe” III, 78, of Carrollton, formerly of Amsterdam, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014, in Canton, OH.

A son of the late Joseph and Katherine Walter Sabol, he was born March 4, 1936.

Joe was the owner and operator of Sabol’s Market in Amsterdam. He was a member of the Amsterdam Moose.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepgrandson, B.J. George.

He is survived by his wife, the former Carole Teichman, whom he married August 23, 1955; a son, Kenneth Sabol of Amsterdam; granddaughter, Amy (Ty) Sutton of Carrollton; three great-grandchildren Nicholas Sutton, Nathan Sutton, Mariah Sutton; step- great-granddaughter, Taylor Renee George; brother, Carl (Anna) Sabol of Annapolis, OH; four sisters, Irene (Tom) Stone of Amsterdam, Alice Ondusko of Paducah, KY, Susan (John) Abell of California, MD, and Betty Ann (Bill) Johnson of Carrollton.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 17, 2014, at Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home of Amsterdam with Rev. Duane Quesenberry officiating. Burial will follow in Bergholz Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday evening in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to Community Hospice of Carroll County, 1040 Trump Road, Carrollton, OH 44615
