Mary Georgia Keppen

KEPPEN, Mary Georgia, 83, of Richmond, OH, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Wyngate Senior Living Community, Weirton.

She was born September 29, 1930, in Hollidays Cove, WV, a daughter of the late Nick and Lady Grace (Nutter) Komestakes.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Harry Komestakes and sisters, Donna “Nena” Critser and Stella Komestakes.

Georgia was a member of the Richmond United Methodist Church, Senior Citizens of East Springfield, Eastern Star Chapter 360 Unionport, East Springfield Homemakers, and VFW Auxiliary Wellsburg.

She was in various choirs including, Wintersville Methodist Church Choir for two years, Richmond Methodist Church Choir for 10 years, Adel Methodist Church Choir six years, and New Haven Methodist Church Choir for two years.

Georgia enjoyed gardening, puzzles, needlepoint, crochet, and knitting.

She is survived by her daughters, Rev. Roberta (Tim) Byram of Apex, NC, Kathy (Royce) McClellan of Bay St. Louis, MS, and Kimberly Keppen of Toronto, OH; sister, Emily “Chappy” (Hank) Orsini of Pleasant Hill; grandchildren, Jennifer (Eric) Eash of Orville, Rebecca (Bruce) Peterson of Raleigh, Robert (Kim) Dent of Raeford, and Angelica (John) Yates of Toronto; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 West Main St., Richmond on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m.

Burial will follow at Ft. Steuben Burial Estates.
