Samuel H. Profit

PROFIT, Samuel Henry left his earthly body and departed to be home with his Lord on April 1, 2014, surrounded by family.

Affectionately called “Sam” by family and friends, Sam was born in Steubenville, OH, on February 11, 1939, to Esther Profit Davis and William Profit.

Sam was a veteran of the United States Army, air troopers division. He also was one of the original members of the musical group Stereos, which hailed from Steubenville.

Sam resided in Atlanta (Duluth), Georgia. A devoted father, Sam succumbed shortly after being preceded in death by his daughter, Donyale Profit, on February 27. He was at his daughter’s side when she departed her earthly body to prepare for her father’s ascension. Sam was also preceded in death by his youngest daughter, Tiffany Profit, mother, father, brother, William I. Profit, and former wife, Jackie Profit.

Sam is survived by two sons, Derrick McShann (Detroit, MI) and Barry Harris (Wellsville, OH) and one daughter, Carmen Thompson (Mingo Jct., OH) and several grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters, Willie Belle Yates (Buffalo, NY), Gloria (Robert) Pullie (Wellsville, OH), Juanita Swearingen (Steubenville, OH), Eleanor Profit (Columbus, OH), Mary Jane Brown (Steubenville, OH) and Mary (John) Barnes (Steubenville, OH); and his extended family, former wife, Liz Profit (Charlotte, NC) and her two sons, Marvin Caffee (Niagara Falls, NY) and Artis Caffee (Charlotte, NC) and his daughter’s caregiver Angel Farr and a host of nieces and nephews.
