Cam Controguerra

Cam Controguerra, 93, formerly of Steubenville, OH, and Henderson, NV, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2014 at his residence in Prescott, AZ.

Cam was the service manager of Thoburn Oldsmobile/Davis Oldsmobile/ McKitrick-Harms Oldsmobile on Fifth Street for 50 years.

He was born in Pescara, Italy, on October 9, 1920, and immigrated with his parents to Steubenville when he was two years old.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Amelia “Mallie” Controguerra, to whom he was married for 57 years, in 2002; and his son, Philip “Flip” Controguerra, in 1998.

Cam served in the United States Army Air Force during World War II in the South Pacific and Panama.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Richard Reinard of Prescott Valley, AZ; his daughter-in-law, Carol Grossi-Controguerra of Richmond, OH; and his sister, Nancy Buccieri of Strongsville, OH; his campanion, Hazel Sykes of Prescott, AZ; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Interment will be at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, NV, on June 6 with full military honors.
