John T. Creek 67, of Steubenville, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, May 12, 2014.
He was born February 2, 1947, in Orange, Texas, the son of Alvena Wolters Creek of Steubenville and the late Virgil Creek.
John was retired from Weirton Steel with 29 years of service, a graduate of Mingo High School class of 1965, served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, was a recipient of the Purple Heart and was a Catholic.
John was a member of the American Legion Argonne Post 33, P.N.A., was an avid hunter, golfer, fisherman and a Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Surviving are his son, Jeffrey Creek and his daughter, Christina Creek, both of Steubenville; one brother, Daniel (Connie) Creek of Steubenville; and his former wife and friend, Marie Creek of Steubenville.
Friends are invited to Mt. Calvary Cemetery Chapel, Thursday at 9:45 a.m. for a committal service. Fr. Tom Nau and Fr. Jack McCoy will officiate and military honors will be conducted by the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.
