Robert Work

Robert A. “Bob” Work, 78, of Wintersville, OH, passed away Sunday May 25, 2014 at Trinity Medical Center East in Steubenville, OH.

He was born May 8, 1936, in Cadiz, OH, a son of the late Donald and Erma (Gross) Work.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brother-in- laws, Frank L. (Doris) Molinaro and Joseph A. Molinaro; and a sister-in-law, Mary Alice “NaNa” Molinaro.

Bob graduated from Mingo High School in 1956. He served his country in the U.S. Navy for 4 years in active duty and 16 years in the reserves. He worked for Weirton Steel Corp as a crane operator, then retired from National Steel where he worked on the galvanized line 36. He was a member of the Wintersville V.F.W. Post 557.

Bob was a devoted husband to his wife, Barb. He was a man of few words and never knew the word No. Bob was a very hard worker and enjoyed helping anyone in need. He was loved and will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Barbara J. (Molinaro) Work, whom he married on November 11, 1967; a brother, Richard W. (Sandy) Work, of Princeton, WV; a special sister-in-law, Patricia A. Molinaro of Wintersville, Ohio; special friends, Joseph and Marlene D’Alessio of Wintersville, Ohio; many nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave., Mingo Junction, where funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. with Rev. John D. Ater, officiating.

Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Steubenville, with Military Honors by the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.
