Steve Tkalcevic, 86, formerly of Steubenville, OH, and Burgettstown, PA, passed away on May 8, 2014, in Tulsa, OK.
He was born May 15, 1927, in Trstenica, Yugoslavia, a son of the late Tomo and Kata Tkalcevic.
Mr. Tkalcevic was a retired pipe fitter with Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel. Mr. Tkalcevic also served in the United States Army during World War II. On September 5, 1980, he married the late Beverly Adler Tkalcevic in Steubenville, OH. The couple made their home in Steubenville through the years. When Mr. Tkalcevic retired, they enjoyed time spent traveling across the country. In November 2009 they traveled to Oklahoma to visit family for Thanksgiving and decided to stay. Steve also enjoyed farming and cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Surviving are brothers Nick Tkalcevic of Burgettstown, PA, Tom Tkalcevic of Burgettstown, PA, George Tkalcevic of Slovan, PA, John Tkalcevic of Page, AZ, and Michael Tkalcevic of Avella, PA; sister Mary Tkalcevic of Burgettstown, PA; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Steve has resided in Oklahoma with his oldest stepson, Roger Glazier, since 2009.
His surviving step- children are Carrie Mendez, Wendy Glazier, Sarah Glazier and Larry Glazier.
Friends may call at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Steubenville on Friday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. with Rev. Gene Shepherd officiating.
