Henry George DiPietro, 91, of Follansbee, WV, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2014, at his home under the care of Valley Hospice.
Henry was born on January 24, 1923, in Follansbee, WV. He was the son of the late Joseph and Anne (Lupinetti) DiPietro.
Henry was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II in different theaters and earning numerous medals. He worked at Weir Cove Moving and Storage.
Henry was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Follansbee, WV.
In addition to his parents, Henry was preceded in death by his brother, Alphonso DiPietro, and a sister, Helen Lamone.
Henry is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Blanche (Checca) DiPietro of Follansbee, WV; two loving children, JoAnn (Charles) Petrilla of Washington, PA, and Henry Joseph (Melissa) DiPietro of Huntsville, AL; three grandchildren: Jennifer Petrilla and Jacob and Lucas DiPietro; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, June 16, 2014, from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the James Funeral Home, 1245 Main St., Follansbee, WV (304-527-1717).
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 16, 2014, at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 1017 Jefferson St., Follansbee, WV, with Msgr. Paul Hudock presiding.
Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Follansbee, WV, with military honors by the United States Army and Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.
