Olive Slowikowski, 88, of Weirton, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2014 in the Weirton Geriatric Center.
Born January 11, 1926 in Steubenville, OH, she was a daughter of the late James and Olive Ely Bickerstaff.
Mrs. Slowikowski was a homemaker, attended the Weirton Alliance Church and was a member of the Mingo Senior Citizens. While a resident of the Weirton Geriatric Center, Olive enjoyed playing bingo and all the activities offered to the residents.
She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Frank Burns and Zigmund Slowikowski and sisters, Shirley Eddy and Lottie Yeager and Zigmund’s son Thomas Slowikowski.
Olive is survived by her son, Robert (Sandra) Burns; daughters, Vicki (Fred) Angelo and Margaret (Fred) Freshwater; Zigmund’s children, Rosemary (Stanley) Zanieski, Robert (Susan) Slowikowski, and Tom’s wife, Lynda Slowikowski all of Weirton five grandchildren; six step- grandchildren; six great- grandchildren and nine step-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday 4-8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 until the 11 a.m. funeral service at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Rev. Peter Leonovich will officiate.
Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton.
