Ethel “Dolly” Nelson, 81, of Irondale, OH, passed away at her home on Sunday, July 13, 2014.

A daughter to the late Earl and Bernice (Wiles) Tice, she was born in Irondale on December 24, 1932. She lived her entire life in this area.

Mrs. Nelson was preceded in death by her husband, Carl E. Nelson, on May 19, 2013. They married on May 1, 1949.

She is survived by two daughters, Myra Striker and her husband, Charles, of Richmond, OH, and Tina Schoolcraft and her husband, David, of Irondale, OH; a stepson, Paul M. Nelson and his wife, Cindy, of Chester, WV; one brother, Larry Tice and his wife, Betty, of Irondale, OH; and five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, James R. Tice, and a sister, Betty Reapp.

Services will be held at the Wellsville Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dan Crowe of Irondale United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Hammondsville Cemetery.

Family will be present to receive friends at the Wellsville Chapel on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.

Ethel Nelson

Harry L. Rigo, 89, of Avella, PA, passed away on Saturday July 12, 2014, at home.

He was retired from Weirton Steel and was a member of the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall in Follansbee. He was born June 4, 1925, to the late Frank and Sophie Simon Rigo.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Greaves Rigo; a daughter, Betty Jane Hays; and two brothers, Frank and Emil Rigo.

He is survived by his daughter, Linda McNeely and her husband Jerry of Avella, PA; one sister, Matilda Nicosia of Follansbee; five grandchildren: Lori (Edwardo) Escobar of FL, Mark (Becky) McNeely of St. Clairsville, OH, Michael (Jayne) McNeely of Pittsburgh, PA, Melissa (Rick) Scheiderer of Memphis, TN, and Denise Schmidt of Avella, PA; and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Reasner Funeral Home, 1515 Charles St., Wellsburg, where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2014. Officiating will be Elder Michael Duggan. Interment will be at Bethel Ridge Cemetery, Avella, PA.
