Eunice Dodd

DODD, Eunice Jean (Yoho), 84, of Wellsburg, WV, passed away suddenly after a great day with family on Sunday, July 27, 2014, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.

Eunice was born on July 29, 1929, in Wellsburg, WV. She was the daughter of the late William and Edna (Grimm) Yoho.

Eunice worked as a nurse with the Jefferson Hancock Counties Mental Health Programs at the former St. John’s Hospital. She went on to work for a couple of nursing homes and retired in her 70’s from Dr. Joseph DePetro III’s Office, Wellsburg, WV.

Eunice was a member of Wellsburg Presbyterian Church serving as a greeter. She loved playing Texas Hold’em with family on Saturday night, gardening, but most of all, her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Eunice was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Dodd, a great-granddaughter, Melanie Perdue, five brothers, Bob, Jim, and John Yoho, Floyd Farson, and Mark Murphy, and a sister, Margaret Wilcox.

Eunice is survived by her three loving children, Jeanne (Rick) McGill of Greensville, SC, James (Lynn) Dodd of Wellsburg, WV, and Robin (Jim Dale) George of Wellsburg, WV, seven caring grandchildren, Brian and Sean McGill, Desiree Perdue, Michele Apesos, James Dodd, and JJ and Eva George, 12 adorable great- grandchildren, Sonya, Aja and Brandon McGill, Tony & Tyler Apesos, Matthew Crisci, Hayden Dodd, Kodi, Hayley, and Emily George, and Christina and Hester Perdue, and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, July 29, 2014, from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, July 30, 2014, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. and Thursday, July 31, 2014, from 10 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 11 a.m. at the Chambers Funeral Home, 1030 Main Street, Wellsburg, WV (304) 737-3551, with Reverend Mary J. Knapp, officiating.

Interment next to her husband, James, will follow at Franklin Cemetery, Wellsburg, WV.

The family requested NO FLOWERS due to family allergies. The family would ask you to donate a book to the Brooke County Library, plant a tree, or make a donation to a Church to better her and your community.
