Miriam E. Branagan, 91, of Steubenville died Friday July 18, 2014, at Valley Hospice. She was born May 17, 1923, in Steubenville.
She is the daughter of the late David and Sarah Williams Davies, Miriam is also preceded in death by her husband, Frank J. Branagan, Jr., two brothers, Edward and William Davies, and two sisters, Violet Ellis and Elizabeth Albaugh.
Miriam was a homemaker, a member of the First Baptist Church of Steubenville, and for many years was a poll worker for the board of elections.
Surviving are two sons, James (Vicki) Branagan of Wintersville and Robert (Mitzi) Branagan of Steubenville, one daughter, Sally (Dr. Robert) Ludwig of Clearwater, Fla. Eight grandchildren, Kelly, Matt, Patrick, Tim, Kristin, Kurt, Daniel, and Michael, nine great-grandchildren.
Miriam was an avid sports fan, her favorites where, the Steelers, Pirates, Penguins, Ohio State and Big Red.
Calling hours are Monday 4-8 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, and on Tuesday at the First Baptist Church, 334 Cedar Ave., Steubenville from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. John Westling and Doug Nevin will officiate and burial will follow at Union Cemetery.
