Stanley G. Georgiafandis, 85, of Steubenville died Thursday, July 10, 2014, at Trinity West.
He was born March 16, 1929, in Chicago, IL. He is the son of the late George and Mary Georgiafandis.
Stanley is also preceded in death by his brothers, Steve and Nick.
Stanley was retired from the Steubenville and Jefferson County Health Departments with 45 years of service, was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and attended First Westminster Church.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Greer Georgiafandis whom he married July 31, 1976; two daughters, Maria (Bud Connolly) Georgiafandis of Grand Rapids, OH and Cathy (John) Craig of Myrtle Beach SC; one brother, John (Mary) Georgiafandis of Shreveport, LA; two sisters, Ethel (Mike) Apesos of Weirton and Julia Moutasos of Steubenville; one granddaughter, Michelle (Luke) Dixon; and two great-grandsons, Jack and James Dixon; stepson, James (Pam) Carducci of Smithfield; daughters, Patricia (William) Hopes of Carmichael, PA, Peggy (Richard) DiMichele of Brooke Park, OH; and six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 15 great- great-grandchildren.
Stanley served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
Calling hours are Sunday 2-4 p.m. only at the Mosti Funeral Home, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville and on Monday at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Fr. Nicholas Halkias. Burial at Union Cemetery. There will be Trisagion service Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
