Ann Wargacki

WARGACKI, Ann M., 96, of Weirton, passed on to her Heavenly Reward on Aug. 13, 2014, at Trinity Medical Center West.

She was born Aug. 1, 1918, in Mingo Junction, OH and was the daughter of the late Frank and Jessie Cilli.

She was also preceded in death by her sister, Mary Kucer; brother, Tony Cilli; and nephew, Tom Cilli.

Ann was a wife, a mother and a homemaker who enjoyed bowling in several local leagues and card parties with her friends and neighbors in her younger years.

She volunteered over one thousand hours at the Weirton Medical Center between the early 1970’s and 2012 when illness prevented her from continuing her work there.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church and Christian Mothers.

Ann spent the last eight months of her life under the loving care of Tami McQuiston and her staff at Woodland Hills Assisted Living Facility at 608 N 10th Street in Weirton.

She is survived by her husband, Alphonse Wargacki whom she married on Aug. 25, 1951; her son, Mark ( Eileen ) Wargacki of Winter Garden, FL; her daughter, Margaret Ann ( Mike ) Valuska of Weirton; her grandson, and the light of her life, Joshua Patitz of Columbus, OH; two sisters, Jean Grishkevich of Follansbee and Lil Parmenter of Mingo Jct., OH; brother, Dominic ( Velma ) Cilli of Mingo Jct., OH; sister-in-law, Iris Wargacki of Weirton; five nieces; three nephews; and numerous great- nieces and great- nephews and many friends old and new.

In life, Ann was well known as a kind and caring woman who would help anyone. In death she wished to continue helping others by donating her remains to the WVU Human Gift Registry for research and education.

As such there will be no visitation or funeral at this time. Family and friends will be celebrating Ann’s life with a memorial mass and luncheon at a later time.
