Jerome V. Gundrum, 86, of East Springfield, died Thursday at Affinity Medical Center, Massillon, OH.
He was born June 30, 1928, in Milwaukee, WI. He is the son of the late Benedict and Grace McCarroll Gundrum.
Jerome is also preceded in death by his wife, Helen Currance Gundrum; and two sons, James and Jerome.
Jerome was retired from the former Ohio Coal Co. where he was a heavy equipment operator and also worked formerly for Culligan Water Company as an inspector and deliveryman.
Surviving are his son, Jeffrey (Frances); four brothers, Paul (Donna) and Ben, Robert (Beverly) and Albert (Kathy); four sisters, Catherine Merrill and Rose D’Angelo, Alice (Daniel) Granatir, Mary (Raymond) Blain; daughter-in-law, Linda Gundrum; three grand-children, Julie, Amy; and Andrew; and four great-grandchildren.
Jerome was a member of the East Springfield Fire Department for 45 years, the Richmond Lions Club, and served his country in the U.S. Army during both World War II and the Korean War.
Calling hours are Sunday 1 p.m. until the time of services at 3 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. Military Honors will be conducted by the U.S. Army.
