Leonard Tost

TOST, Leonard J., Esq. of Weirton, passed away Friday, July 25, 2014.

Born June 8, 1934, in Follansbee, WV, he was the son of the late Joseph S. Tost and Augustine R. (Reant) Tost.

Also preceded in death by siblings, Peter M. Tost, Ila V. Cribbs, and nephew, Joseph Tost.

He is survived by his sons, Leonard (Lorraine) J. Tost III of McMurray, PA, Joseph (Michele) S. Tost III of Martinsburg, WV, “lady friend” Elaine Cipoletti, six grandchildren; Alexandria, Margaret, Joshua, Gabriel, Nathaniel, and Nicholas, brother, Joseph S. Tost Jr. of Follansbee, WV, sisters, Stephanie (Charles) “Chuck” Hensler of Anapolis, MD and Marie (Larry) Lykins of Washington, PA and many nieces and nephews.

Leonard was a graduate of Follansbee High School, West Liberty, and West Virginia University School of Law. He was a member of St. Paul’s of Weirton, WV Leonard practiced law for over 40 years in the area and was a member of the West Virginia and Pennsylvania state bar.

He served two enlistments in the U.S. Army one during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Leonard also served as City Solicitor for the City of Follansbee, Assistant Prosecutor and then Prosecutor of Hancock County.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, Aug. 3, from 4-8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at Mullenbach Funeral Home, 669 Main St., Follansbee WV 20637.

The service for Leonard will be held on Monday, Aug. 4, at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Church of Follansbee, WV with Mon. Paul Hudock officiating.

Inturnment will be held privately in Franklin Cemetery in Wellsburg, WV.
