MACKEY, Raymond Arthur, 86, of Amsterdam, died Friday, Aug. 22, 2014, in the Great Trail Care Center in Minerva.
Born Feb. 13, 1928, in Steubenville, he was a son of the late John and Marcella Taylor Mackey.
A career Air Force veteran, he had served during both Korea and Vietnam. Raymond was a retired employee of the Timken Company. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amsterdam.
He is survived by a son, Mark (Debbie) Mackey of Fresno, CA; three grand children, Andrea, Amanda, and Ian Mackey; four great-grandchildren; and two nieces, Lynn Bond of Carrollton and Georgette Huff of Carrollton.
Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, the former Helen McGowan, in 2000; a brother, John Mackey; two infant sisters; and a nephew.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church of Amsterdam with Fr. John McCoy officiating.
Entombment will follow at the Union Cemetery in Steubenville. Raymond’s services were under the care and guidance of Dodds Funeral Home.
