Vivian Mazzella

MAZZELLA, Vivian Lucille (Hedges), 80, of Wellsburg, WV, died peacefully on Monday, Sept. 1, 2014, at Acuity Hospital in Steubenville, OH.

She was born on Dec. 15, 1933, in Wellsburg, WV, a daughter of the late Victor and Margaret (McCamic) Hedges.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Simon “Sam” Mazzella on Sept. 24, 2007; her son, Steve Mazzella on March 27, 2012; and two brothers, John and Donald Hickman.

Vivian was co-founder of Mazzella Welding and Fabrication where she handled much of the bookkeeping and finances of the business. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, the A.A.R.P., and the Bethany Order of Eastern Star 69.

She is survived by five children, Roxanne (John) Matysiak, Wintersville, OH, Matthew (Kay) Mazzella, Wellsburg, WV, Phillip Mazzella (Laurie Eastham), Wellsburg, WV, Larry (Jill) Mazzella, Colliers, WV, and Vince (Mary Ann) Mazzella, Wellsburg, WV; a daughter-in-law, Donna Ann Mazzella, Wellsburg, WV; one brother, Vernon (Carolyn) McCamic, Wintersville, OH; 14 grandchildren, Karl Matysiak, Eric Mazzella (Michelle Iverson), John Mazzella (Sarah Dipasquale), Sarah Mazzella and fiance, Blake Emmerth, Andrew (Brandy) Mazzella, Kelcey (Tyler) Pepe, Mark Mazzella, Lance and Duston Mazzella, Sam Mazzella, Rachel Mazzella and fiance, Darin Heavilin, Kayla Mazzella (John Lynch), Lisa Mazzella (Alexander Stubbs), and Leanne Mazzella; two great- grandchildren, Sylas Mazzella and Aurora Mazzella.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 3 from 6-8 p.m., and again on Thursday, Sept. 4 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Mullenbach Funeral Home, 669 Main St., Follansbee, WV. Vigil service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 4 at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mass of Christian burial be held on Friday, Sept. 5 at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Beech Bottom, WV with the Rev. Fr. Dan Pisano as celebrant.

Interment will follow in Kadesh Chapel Cemetery, Beech Bottom, WV
