Charles Peters

PETERS, Charles W., known by his friends as “Doc,” 91, of Burgettstown, passed away on Monday, Oc. 25, 2016, in Brightwood Nursing Center, Follansbee, WV.

He was born on Nov. 30, 1924, in Paden City, WV a son of the late Robert L. and Esta Ash Peters.

A Veteran of the United States Army, he served in World War II and retired from Weirton Steel.

He was a member of the Pittsburgh Revival Center in North Hills and enjoyed doing yardwork and spending time with his family.

Surviving is his wife Bernice L. Westfall Peters of Burgettstown; his children to his late first wife, Wanda Peters, Pamela Schulte of Follansbee, WV, Terry Peters and Darlene White both of FL; his children to his second wife, Bernice, Charlene Speedy of Weirton, WV, Gregg Linger of Florence, and Kirk Linger of Weirton, WV; 13 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Deceased in addition to his parents are his first wife, Wanda Peters; three sons, Mark Peters, Terry and Gary Linger; two brothers, Bob and Bill; and four sisters, Mary, Ruth, Fae and Betty.

To honor Mr. Peters’ wishes, there will be no public visitation and entombment with Military Honors in Highland Hills Memorial Gardens, Follansbee, WV will be held privately.
