SAVER, Elmer T., 93, of Paris, went home to be with the Lord on Dec. 20, 2016, at Woodland Hills Manor, Weirton, WV.
He was born Aug. 9, 1923, in Penowa, PA., a son of the late John Sr. and Susan Mikus Saver.
He was a Navy Veteran who served for 16 years as a navy mechanic during World War II and the Korean War, attaining the rate as a first-class petty officer.
He was a member of the Iron Workers Union Local 79 of Norfolk, VA and Local 549 of Wheeling, WV. He retired in 1986 as the supervisor of the construction department of Weirton Steel with 32 years of service.
He was a member of the Weirton Steel Club and the American Legion Post 698 of Burgettstown, PA.
He is survived by a son, Geoffrey Saver, husband of Judy, Hookstown, PA; a daughter, Mary Susan Saver Debold, Oakdale, PA; three grandchildren, Jessica (Dave) Saver Dominowski, Georgetown, PA, Stacey (Jim) Saver Creese, Aliquippa, PA, and William (fiancee Jess) Pryslak, Carnegie, PA; and two great-grandchildren, Jeffrey McCartney and Haley Creese.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen of 58 years; and son-in-law, Jim Debold.
Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, in the Taucher Funeral Home, 23 Erie Mine Road, Burgettstown, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, December 23 with the Rev. Tina Hossler officiating.
