Donald Murvine

Donald Murvine, 81, of Irondale, OH, an exceptional husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, left this world to be with his beloved wife, Barb, in Heaven on Friday Feb. 17, 2017 in Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH.

Don was born on Dec. 3, 1935 in Akron, OH, son of the late Mae Murvine.

He was retired from the FirstEnergy Co. Sammis Plant, with 37 years of service, where he worked as a yard foreman.

Don was a member of the New Somerset Christian Church, the Hi-Stack Club and the Jenkins Masonic Lodge 471 in Irondale and the Toronto Eastern Stars.

Don was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving his country during the Korean War.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara (Minor) Murvine, who passed away on May 7, 2016; and his son-in-law, Ed Hosey.

Surviving is his daughter, Darlene Hosey of Toronto, OH; his son, Donald Keith (Pam) Murvine of New Somerset, OH; four grandchildren, Brian (Nicole) Rawson, Dee Rawson, John Tarr and Jeremy Murvine; and eight great-grandchildren, Maddie, Blaine, Meghan, Sydney, Amelia, Jack, Haley and Zoey. He also leaves his faithful companion, his dog Chester.

Visitation will be held on Monday, Feb. 20, 2017 from 4-8 p.m. at the J. E. Foster Funeral Home, 701 Findley St. in Toronto. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the New Somerset Christian Church. Additional visitation will take place Tuesday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service. Pastor Rob Minto will officiate and burial will follow in the New Somerset Christian Church Cemetery.

Masonic services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday. Military graveside honors will be conducted by the Toronto American Legion Post 86.
