James R. “Jim” Zeigler, Jr., 72, of Follansbee, W.Va., died Friday, February 3, 2017, at Life Line Hospital, in Steubenville, Ohio.

Born June 11, 1944, in Steubenville, Ohio, he was a son of the late James R. Zeigler Sr. and Kathryn Mae Wolverton Zeigler. He was also preceded in death by his infant daughter, Lori Diane Zeigler; twin sister, Roberta Jane Zeigler, who died at birth, and his sister, Marjory Glover.

Jim loved to work. He retired from the Strip Steel Production Planning Department of Weirton Steel after 42 years of service and then continued working for 10 years as a security guard at Weirton Medical Center. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He loved his family more than anything in the world, and cherished the times he was able to spend with them. He enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and the WVU Mountaineers. He will always be remembered as a guy who was very well loved.

He is survived by his wife, Kay Tice Zeigler, whom he married July 26, 1968; two sons, Jeffrey J. (fiance’ Elizabeth Mohr) Zeigler of Rochester, Pa. and Joshua D. Zeigler of Greenville, S.C.; a daughter, Jodie L. Wallace of Butler, Pa.; two sisters, Mary Lou Wright of Indiana, Pa., and Sue Ann (Frank) Provenzano of Columbus, Ohio; three grandchildren, who were the light of his life, Sean Patrick and Erin Marie Wallace and Madison Lynn Zeigler.

Visitation will be held Monday 3-7 p.m. at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St., Weirton, WV, where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. The Reverend Dr. Christina Hosler will officiate. Interment will be in Chestnut Ridge Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
