Frances Fante

FANTE, Frances Paula DeLuca, born Sept. 21, 1932, died peacefully on May 22, 2017, at the age of 84 with her children at her side.

Her husband Nicholas Fante, mother, Lucy Sferrella DeLuca and her father, Pasquale DeLuca, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her brother, Pasquale (JoAnn) DeLuca of Cleveland and her three children, Nicholas (Susan), Annette (Jan) and Anthony (Kristin) and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her children, the many friends who cared for her and allowed her to remain independent filled her life with love and joy. Frances enjoyed a rich and abundant life. Her early years on Slack Street were spent with her many uncles and her first cousins, Lorelia Siano and Claudio DeIntinis.

The house on Slack Street was filled with lots of family, love and great Italian food. Frances enjoyed being with people. She had a generous, welcoming spirit. She welcomed all into her life and was selfless in her care for others. Frances lived her faith and gave all of herself to her faith. She was a cook for the priests at St. Anthony’s, where her family came to know Father Edmundo Stabene who was like a brother to her. She worked for a time at Pasquarella’s Beverage Center and the radiology department of St. John’s Hospital.

Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio on Friday from 9:30- 11:30 a.m. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Friday at noon at Holy Family Church with Msgr. Gerald E. Calovini officiating. Burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
