Kenneth T. Straka, 78, of Toronto, Ohio, passed away Monday Sept. 11, 2017, in the Sewickley Hospital in Sewickley, Pa.
Kenny was born Dec. 28, 1938, in Toronto, son of the late, Joseph F. and Freda Maude (Channels) Straka.
He was retired from the Republic Steel Corp. where he worked as a molder. Kenny was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served his country in the Vietnam War.
Kenny was a member of the Toronto American Legion Post 86 and he was an avid camper at Austin Lake outside of Toronto.
Kenny leaves behind his wife, Patricia Ann (Vinburg) Straka, whom he married Feb. 17, 1984; his two sons, David and Thomas Straka both of Florida; his two brothers, Robert (Pat) Straka of Toronto and Gary (Betty) Straka of Follansbee, W.Va.; his close friend, Ronald Freeman of Rayland, Ohio; two nieces, one nephew, and his trusty dog, Papu.
There will be a visitation on Thursday, Sept. 14, from 11 a.m. until the time of his funeral service at 1 p.m. at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. The Rev. Robert Meyer will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery.
Military graveside honors will be presented at the cemetery by the Toronto American Legion. Memorial donations may be directed to: The Jefferson Co. Animal Shelter, 200 Airpark Dr. Wintersville, OH 43953.
