Thomas Andreozzi Sr.

Thomas A. Andreozzi Sr., 77, of Follansbee, WV died peacefully after a two-month battle with lung cancer on Monday, September 18, 2017, at Ohio Valley Medical Center in Wheeling, WV.

Born on December 19, 1939, in Follansbee, WV, a son of the late Nicola Andreozzi and Mary (Andreozzi) Ormsby. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two infant brothers; his first wife, Mildred “Midge” Andreozzi; and his daughter, Tonia Garan.

Tom graduated from Follansbee St. Anthony High School. He retired from Weirton Steel Corporation, where he worked as a clerk in the strip steel electrical department. After his family, Tom’s passion was music and bowling, having bowled a perfect 300 game at Holiday Lanes in Weirton.

Tom was an accomplished keyboardist, having played for many years in area bands such as Frank Perrone Band, Tom Poole Band, Now and Then, the Original Fantasy’s, and most recently Legend. He also performed with nationally known bands such as Rare Earth, Three Dog Night, and The Coasters.

He was a lifetime member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, where he also served as an usher. Tom held membership in the Follansbee Knights of Columbus and the Garibaldi Lodge,.

Tom is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Kathy (Petrisak) Andreozzi, at home; one son, Thomas Andreozzi Jr. of Follansbee, WV; one sister, Antionette “Sis” Maczko of Langeloth, PA; three grandsons, Alex and Mark Garan and Tom Andreozzi III; and one great-grandson, Vinnie Andreozzi; an aunt, Geraldine Taibi of Follansbee, WV; his mother-in-law, Viola Petrisak of Weirton, WV; two sisters-in-law, Linda and Jim Pauchnik of Weirton, WV, and Virginia and Bob Griffith of Colliers, WV; and several nieces and nephews; and extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 21 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Mullenbach Funeral Home, 669 Main St., Follansbee, WV. A vigil service will be held on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 22, at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church at 1017 Jefferson St. Follansbee, WV, with the Rev. Fr. Cody Ford as celebrant.

Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Follansbee, WV.
