William ‘Bud’ Means Jr.

William T. “Bud” Means Jr., 65, of Toronto, Ohio, passed away Saturday, October 21, 2017, at Valley Hospice Care Center North after fighting a courageous battle with MS for the last 40 years.

He was born September 23, 1952, in Steubenville, OH, a son of the late William T. and Dorothy Flaherty Means Sr. Bud was a member of Kolmont Community Church, GKL Wildlife Association and Mingo Sportsman Club.

Bud was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. Despite his long battle with MS, Bud unwaveringly remained a positive and supportive influence to his family during his long fight. His stoicism and fortitude over the years remains an inspiration to all who knew and loved him.

Preceding him in death was his brother Mark Means.

Surviving are his wife of 43 years, whom he married May 18, 1974, Stephanie Kovach Means; two daughters, Erin (Grady) Query of Charleston, SC, and Courtney (Nikil) Prabhakar of New York, NY; two grandchildren, Austin Query of Charleston, SC, and Aria Prabhakar of New York, NY; and Aunt Dorothy Means of Mingo Junction, OH.

Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, on Tuesday from 3 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m. with Pastor Randy Sells officiating.
